AFSCME GO Message Training
AFSCME GO Message Training
Monday, August 17 Room N-135
Wednesday, August 19 Room S-401 BC
This interactive workshop will help strengthen your ability to communicate in ways that motivate members and voters to take action and respond confidently to tough questions. You will practice framing issues related to organizing, workplace actions, contract campaigns, and political engagement using clear, values-based messaging. The workshop will also focus on handling challenging questions from the media, elected officials, and the public, and on bridging those moments back to AFSCME’s priorities and the union’s difference. The session will include a hands-on “content lab” where participants work in small groups to develop and test real-world materials such as short speeches, digital content, talking points, or video. Participants will leave with sharpened messaging and media-response skills, draft content, and a concrete plan to apply the AFSCME GO message in upcoming campaigns and actions.
